The Nova Scotia man wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant, has been found in Windsor, Ontario.
Durrell Samuel Diggs was wanted for weapons charges in relation to a shooting that occurred in Dartmouth last year.
On October 23, 2022, police responded to a shooting near Portland Street in Dartmouth. A 27-year-old woman had been shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police arrested five suspects at the scene, including Diggs. On April 6, 2023, the warrant was issued for his arrest after his bail was revoked by the courts.
He was charged with the following:
- Careless use of a firearm x 2
- Unsafe storage contrary to regulations x 2
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x 2
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm x 2
- Possession of weapon obtained in an offence x 2
- Possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized x 2
- Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle x 2
- Possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm with ammunition x 2
- Possession contrary to firearm prohibition x 3
