Poll suggests East coasters more likely to ‘buy Canadian’

Are you buying more Canadian products?

According to a new poll from Narrative Research, three quarters of Atlantic Canadians say they’re more likely to purchase goods from this country given the proposed tariffs by U.S. president Donald Trump.

Three in four are willing to pay up to 17 percent more for a product made in Canada, and seven and ten say they’d give up a favourite American product.

A strong majority say they’ll also put more effort in at the grocery store to source out local products.

Many want stores to make Canadian goods easily identifiable.

Around 80 percent of Nova Scotians and New Brunswickers support both federal and provincial retaliation against tariffs.
