Premier McNeil Debunks April Fools Joke

Premier Stephen McNeil had to take to social media to debunk an April Fool’s joke doing the rounds.

A post was circulating that appeared to be from Education and Early Childhood Development Minister Zach Churchill stating that schools would reopen June 1 with the academic year concluding on August 28.

In the Premier’s post he points out that this is not true. He says the government is still using it’s May 1st deadline they set last week which they will continue to reassess as it approaches.

In McNeil’s post he said “It’s fun to have a sense of humour on April Fools, but I would encourage everyone to understand the impact of their words during this very difficult time.
