Premier says funds stolen from his Pictou East riding association

Nova Scotia’s Premier says money was stolen from his riding association in Pictou East.

In a statement, Tim Houston said this was discovered on Monday night.

The exact amount is unknown, but the person responsible has been reported to police.

He says he informed Elections Nova Scotia on Tuesday.

Houston adds that he can’t say much more, and the investigation has to run its course.

He says it’s upsetting and and disappointing, and the matter is being taken very seriously.
