Pride Flags to be Raised at MODL Office, Shipyard’s Landing

There will be lots of pride shown around Lunenburg County this week.

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg will celebrate Pride by raising the Rainbow Flag at their municipal building Tuesday at noon.

Mayor Carolyn Bolivar-Getson says it’s a small gesture on their part to show support.

“Any visibility that we can bring to the pride movement is one way to help increase education and understanding around adults and youth in our community,” says Bolivar-Getson.

“It’s an opportunity to reflect on the significant work that has been accomplished in our municipality for rights and equality of all people to be a truly inclusive community.”

The Town of Bridgewater will also support the LGBTQ2+ community by raising the flag Thursday at 6pm at Shipyard’s Landing.

Both events are open to the public.
