Province opens applications for mental health program funding

Help is on the way for community based mental health and addictions programs.

The province says applications for grants to organizations are open until July 5, and the funding should be awarded this fall.

Minister Brian Comer says they will prioritized traditionally underserved populations.

“We’re certainly be focused on a diverse group of folks across the province. I’m looking forward to the fall and seeing the successful applicants. A lot of organizations do great work right across the province,” said Comer.

He says this means less time writing applications, and more time delivering important services.

The organizations can apply for up to $250,000 per year for three years.

“This is sustainable core funding, and it’s important because it means they can access these services in places where they live,” added Comer.
