Queens Power Outage Impacting Around 3,000 Homes

Nova Scotia Power is reporting close to 3,000 of its customers in Queens County are currently without power.

A spring storm is currently rolling across the province with heavy rainfall and strong winds, with gusts up to 90 kilometers per hour.

Queens appears to be the hardest hit region in terms of outages so far with 3,000 of the nearly 9,000 outages currently being reported in Nova Scotia.

NS Power’s outage map lists three outages in Queens all in close proximity.

The outages are in Caledonia, Northfield, and Wellington. All three are being attributed to transmission disruptions, which are most commonly caused by falling trees that damage or down power lines.

The restoration time for all three outages is tonight at 10:45 p.m..
