Radiothon: $146,000+ raised in hospital fundraiser

It is an incredible display of community support.

More than $146,000 has been raised to support the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater. It is part of a major fundraiser for the Health Services Foundation.

The goal was $150,000 to help buy new equipment for the intensive care unit and more donations are still coming in.

Some of the purchases would be for an ultrasound, new bed and mattress and four glider chairs.

Our staff were broadcasting live all day as part of the Gift from the Heart Radiothon. With this total in the books, the annual fundraiser, heard on CKBW and Country 100.7, has raised over $1.8 million to enhance healthcare at the regional hospital.

It is the 14th year for the event. Donations can still be made at Health Services Foundation.
