Rain and wind hitting Nova Scotia

Another storm is hitting the province.

This one is bringing 25-50mm of rain and wind gusting to 80 km/h.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning and says the system will hit Digby County and along the Atlantic Coast from Yarmouth County to Cape Breton County.

Heavy rain will start Sunday evening over eastern areas and will hit Cape Breton near midnight before ending Monday afternoon.

The forecaster says to expect large waves, pounding surf and higher water levels.

There could also be localized flooding in low-lying areas with winter conditions possible in higher elevations.

Power

There are roughly 1,000 without power in Bridgwater.

Nova Scotia Power says it is due to high winds.
