Rainfall Warning for Mainland NS

Most of Nova Scotia is under a rainfall warning.

Environment Canada says between 40 and 60mm could fall for most of the mainland tonight into Sunday morning.

The heaviest amounts will be for the Annapolis Valley into Northern Nova Scotia tomorrow and for the Atlantic Coast Sunday night.

Rainfall rates could reach 25mm an hour in a thunderstorm.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, causing hazardous driving conditions.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada.
