RCMP charge Nova Scotia woman in million-dollar fraud case

The nova scotia RCMP’s Commercial Crime Section has charged a Nova Scotia woman in a million-dollar fraud case.

The 42-year-old Bible Hill native is believed to have stolen or misappropriated over $4 million from Millbrook First Nation over a four year period. The woman is an ex-employee of the first Nation.

The RCMP was first made aware of the case after receiving a report from Millbrook’s Chief and Council back in 2019. The investigation was taken over by the Nova Scotia RCMP Commercial Crime Section with help from RCMP Digital Forensic Services and the Public Services and Procurement Canada’s Forensic Accounting Management Group (FAMG).

The woman is slated to appear in Truro provincial court on May 24.
