RCMP Have Issued 154 COVID-19 Related Charges

Nova Scotias RCMP released the latest numbers on COVID-19 related charges today.

Since April 9 they have charged 38 people for offences under the Nova Scotia Health Protection and Emergency Management Acts and 116 people with offences related to the current provincial State of Emergency in Nova Scotia.

The fine for being in a prohibited area under the Emergency Management Act is $697.50.

The fine for violations under the Health Protection Act — which include not practising social distancing or self-isolation — is $7,500 for a business and $1,000 for a person.

These figures do not include local police services like the Bridgewater Police Service or Halifax Regional Police.
