RCMP Investigating Fatal Fire in Granville Ferry

Annapolis District RCMP are investigating a fatal fire that took place early Thursday morning in the small community of Granville Ferry.

According to a release, Shortly before 1 a.m., Annapolis District RCMP, EHS, and fire services received reports of a residential fire in Granville Ferry.

Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the apartment which was located above a garage was engulfed in flames.

Eventually, first responders were able to enter the apartment where they discovered the remains of an adult.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation; the investigation is being led by Annapolis District RCMP, with assistance from the Office of the Fire Marshal, the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service and the Forensic Identification Section of the RCMP.
