Chester RCMP are searching for a suspect after a break and enter at the former elementary school in Gold River.
Police responded to the call shortly after 3 p.m. Friday at the building on Highway 3.
It is possible the person may have been exposed to asbestos.
Health Canada states that breathing in asbestos fibres can cause cancer and other diseases.
The former school has been vacant since 2013 and used for storage purposes.
