Still Few Details From RCMP On Yarmouth Homicide

RCMP still aren’t saying much about a homicide investigation in Yarmouth.

Late Monday night, a 41 year old man died of a gunshot wound in centre town.

Police were called to a home on King Street, and found the man outside.

Paramedics tried to treat the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries.

Most of the investigation has been focused on neighbouring Chester Street.

Corporal Lisa Croteau with Nova Scotia RCMP gave an update this morning.

“There’s no risk to public safety at this time. The investigation has led us to Chester Street. The incident may have occurred there. We’re just doing some investigation in that area and hoping to gather more information.”

The victims’ name has not been released.

Cpl. Croteau says no arrests have been made, and they’re continuing to ask the public to contact Yarmouth Town RCMP or Crime Stoppers with information.
