RCMP Seeking Info On Baseball Bat Assault in Chester

Lunenburg District RCMP are seeking help from the public as they investigate an assault on a youth that took place over the weekend in Chester.

Police were called to Regent Street in Chester around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5 after receiving reports of an assault.

Police learned that a youth had offered shelter to a woman inside the church, when the youth was subsequently assaulted by 3 men, with what is believed to have been a baseball bat. The youth was not seriously injured.

RCMP Cpl. Chris Marshall says they are trying to get an idea of what took place Saturday night as very little information has been confirmed at this time. “We have been getting conflicting stories so it’s tough to say what happened at this point, hence why we are reaching out to the public to see if anyone heard or saw anything,” Marshall said.

Marshall says they are also interested in any video recordings that were taken in the area on Saturday night.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Lunenburg District RCMP at 902-725-3583. Should you wish to remain anonymous call Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
