RCMP seize firearms during search in Sipekne’katik

A 34-year-old man is facing charges after RCMP searched a home in the community of Sipekne’katik.

Mounties said a search warrant was executed Friday on Meadowbrook Road as part of a firearms investigation.

Officers seized seven firearms during the search, including two prohibited firearms, magazines, and ammunition.

They also found liquid and edible psilocybin (mushrooms), along with a quantity of contraband tobacco.

A man was arrested at the scene for firearms offences and later released pending a future court appearance.
