Rowing the Gourd: The Shelburne County Giant Pumpkin Festival Is Fast Approaching

It’s back! One of the most unique and fun festival’s in all of Nova Scotia! The Shelburne County Giant Pumpkin Festival and Regatta!

If you missed it last year then you’re in for some fun! This year it’s bigger and better than ever with bouncy castles, new fall themed food vendors and of course lots of pumpkins! There will be a giant pumpkin weigh in and everyone’s favorite main event, The Pumpkin Regatta where competitors paddle a hollowed giant pumpkin to victory. If you’ve never witnessed this spectacle before, check out a clip from last year’s race below!

The video doesn’t do it justice! It’s a super fun day!

A few of last years paddlers will be back to defend their titles but, there are some new faces in the pumpkins this year as well!

Adam Bissonnette is a newbie to pumpkin racing but is super excited to try it out. I chatted with him below!

It’s going to be a blast! Hope to see you there!
