While competing at the Throws U 2024 Series meeting in Fleetwood Pennsylvania, Liverpool, Nova Scotia native Sarah Mitton recorded the furthest shotput throw of the year in women’s competition.
Her throw of 20.68 metres, was also Mitton’s new personal best and set a new Canadian record.
Her previous top throw was 20.33 metres.
The timing is ideal with Mitton rounding into form ahead of her second Olympics this Summer in Paris. She’ll look to improve on her 28th-place finish from her Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
