Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect

Severe weather could be on the way for most of Nova Scotia this afternoon and evening, except for the northern part of the province and the Cape Breton area.

Environment Canada has issued a Severe Thunderworm Watch, with a possibility of torrential rain that could bring between 25 and 50 mm per hour.

It could also include intense lightning, flash floods, large hail and strong winds.

The forecaster says to follow alerts.
