Shelburne County Man Sentenced In Fentanyl Death

Two and a half years in prison for a Clark’s Harbour man.

32-year old Jesse Arthur Simpson was sentenced in Nova Scotia Supreme Court yesterday on a manslaughter charge.

It’s related to the death of 19-year old Cameron Clairmont of Barrington nearly four years ago.

The young woman died of an overdose on a fentanyl-laced powder that Simpson provided.

The court heard that both Simpson and Clairmont inhaled a line of the substance, and went to sleep at her apartment in Halifax.

When Simpson woke up, Clairmont was unresponsive.

Simpson plead guilty to manslaughter in March, while three other charges including trafficking and criminal negligence causing death were withdrawn.
