Amidst the uncertainty of the COVID-19 crisis, the 2020 Shelburne Lobster Festival has been postponed.
In a release, the festival committee says it made the difficult decision to shut down the festival for this year and postpone it until 2021.
The release says the uncertainty of the current global situation makes it impossible for the various community groups who organize events in the festival to move forward with planning.
Suzy Atwood, event organizer and committee member says they will still find someway to celebrate the end of the lobster season.
She says “The committee will plan to hold some virtual events and contests, and we will find some fun ways to celebrate what the industry means to our County, it will just look a little different this year.”
