Work started earlier this spring on Graham’s Park following a $250,000 donation by the Huskilson family.
CAO Kirk Cox says it’s one of the best projects in recent memory.
“And it was quite simply an easy decision for council, even though it wasn’t in our budget but it’s something we feel is great for the community.”
Cox says a request came after their budget was passed and money will be provided through existing economic development funds.
He adds it’s a big addition to the community.
“For us to have something like this available for kids, not only in the community but kids who are visiting, it’s something you typically don’t see in community’s our size.”
Graham’s Park is located on the old King Street school property.
It is expected to be finished in the next few weeks.
