Shelburne’s CandD Site to remain open under new model

Shelburne’s Construction and Demolition Site is staying open, after all.

A new service delivery model has been approved by municipal council for the site in West Green Harbour.

There were plans to close the site due to the finances needed for upgrades to meet standards.

At a council meeting last week, a new way forward was approved for the site, including updated hours of operation and a new waste sorting model.

The municipality says details on logistics and staffing are still being worked out.

The new model will take effect on April 1.
