Shelter Being Built at Bridgewater Skate Park

Skaters, cyclists and scooter users will soon have a place to go to escape the hot sun at the Bridgewater Skate Park.

Staff with the town’s engineering and public works department are adding a new shelter space.

Construction started late last month and was expected to take a few weeks.

Mayor David Mitchell says it was a necessary step to take.

“If anyone has never been to that park, it is really well used which is exactly what we want. But, it’s also exposed to the elements and most importantly in this case; the sun. We felt it was quite important for there to be a shelter.”

The park remains open but users are asked to avoid the project area and stay away from marked work spaces.
