SIRT Investigating Injuries To Man At Bridgewater Police Station

The Serious Incident Response Team is investigating the circumstances around injuries to a 47-year-old man at the Bridgewater Police Station.

In a release, the SIRT says the man was arrested for impaired driving by the Bridgewater Police on June 23. While waiting for processing, the man showed signs of aggression, and an altercation broke out between him and two officers.

The man was taken to RCMP Cookville prisoner care facility, and claimed to have a broken rib and collar bone, but would not cooperate with medical personal.

After being released later that day, the man went to the hospital on the 27th, where it was determined he had several fractured ribs and a fractured collarbone.

After leaving the hospital, he contacted the Bridgewater police, who then contacted the SIRT.

The investigation into the incident is underway.
