The younger members of my family think that something goes bad on the day after the expiry date.
For me, that’s the time to use the “sniff test”. Especially with milk and dairy products.
The other day I got an Amazon order of breakfast cereal. The expiry is in March.
Using google, I found out that you can add another 18 months to the expiry date. That’s a year and a half!
A major UK grocery chain is getting rid of expiry dates on their milk cartons to combat food waste. It’s estimated that 90 per cent of milk waste is because people automatically throw out the cartons after the expiry date instead of giving it a sniff.
Is the expiry date law in your house? Or do you give it a sniff?
