Attendance figures haven’t been tabulated but the President of the South Shore Exhibition feels it was a great week.
People gathered for music, amusement rides, barrel racing and horse and ox pulls through the six day event.
President Tommy Mailman says there was rain during this year’s parade but overall the week went well.
“Whenever you host the largest agricultural exhibition in the province you always know there are going to be some kinks even though it was our 128th exhibition.”
Mailman says concerts on Friday and Saturday night were well attended and a majority of vendors were pleased with the crowd.
He says the non-profit organization has a few key goals they try to accomplish.
“Generate enough revenue to pay our bills and maintain our infrastructure and make a few improvements, so that next year when people arrive on the grounds they have a nice clean facility.”
Mailman says they upgraded their trailer park this year with new electrical infrastructure.
They will begin planning for next year’s 129th annual South Shore Exhibition in the fall.
