South Shore Health Foundation unveils new name and identity

A long-standing organization supporting health care on the South Shore is moving forward with a new name.

The Health Services Foundation of the South Shore has officially rebranded as the South Shore Health Foundation, marking what it calls a step forward in its evolution.

The change comes after more than 30 years under its previous name. CEO Arleen Stevens says the update reflects both a modernized look and a clearer identity for the organization.

“This rebrand is more than a name change, it’s a renewed commitment to our community,” Stevens said. “As the South Shore Health Foundation, we are strengthening our role as a trusted partner in health care.”

Stevens says the former name often led to confusion, with people mistaking the foundation for a direct health service provider.

“We found for many years… people would see ‘Health Services’ and come to us with all kinds of medical questions,” she said. “It was just the right time to modernize our name and our brand.”

The foundation is also introducing a new tagline — “inspire, invest, transform” — which highlights its focus on supporting innovation, funding equipment and improving care across the region.

Despite the rebrand, Stevens says there will be no disruption for donors. Tax receipts will continue to be issued under the previous name for now, with changes expected once federal systems are updated.

“Donors and folks in the community don’t need to do anything,” she said. “We’re handling it all on our end.”

Residents can also expect to see the new name and logo rolled out quickly, with updates already underway on signage, advertising and within local hospitals.

The foundation supports both South Shore Regional Hospital and Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, funding equipment, programs and services aimed at improving care locally.

Its overall mission remains unchanged — bringing the community together to support better health care across the South Shore.
