After a few delays, the South Shore Public Libraries (SSPL) say they have now received their COVID-19 test kits.
Last Friday, Cheif Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang indicated testing kits were being sent to all public libraries across the province and they would be available for pickup on Monday, December 13.
South Shore Public Libraries did not receive a shipment over the weekend and as a result, didn’t have any kits to give out on Monday.
In a tweet sent out today (Wednesday, December 15) SSPL confirmed that their shipment had arrived and test kits would be available as of 10 a.m..
Tests have been put into kits of five and you are only allowed one kit per person. They are now available at all SSPL branches including the Bookmobile, while supplies last.
If you would like to pick up a kit you may want to do so soon as many other libraries around the province have experienced high demand.
SSPL Deputy Cheif Librarian Jeff Mercer says they are expecting another shipment to arrive next week but they do not know how many kits they will be receiving.
