St. FX to honour Maestro Fresh Wes at Fall Convocation

St. Francis Xavier University will honour Canadian hip-hop legend Maestro Fresh Wes with an honorary degree during its Fall Convocation on December 1.

Originally from Toronto, but now based in Saint John, New Brunswick since 2020, Maestro Fresh Wes is widely regarded as the “Godfather of Canadian Hip-Hop” for his influential career in music and his extensive philanthropic work.

The ceremony, which will take place at the Charles V. Keating Centre, will see nearly 250 students graduate with diplomas and degrees.

Dr. Mila Mulroney, who was named StFX’s 11th Chancellor in September, will be officially installed and will confer the diplomas during the event.
