Almost all my cars have been manual stickshift.
In today’s slippery weather I’ll really appreciate having control over my transmission with a manual, rather than an automatic controlled by a computer.
I had an interesting discussion with a friend the other day – he said that the new automatics get just as good gas mileage as the manuals, and many of them still give you the ability to shift between gears.
But they are not as much fun to drive, was my reply.
It’s almost time for me to start looking for a new car. And my choices are even more limited than the last time I bought new as far as finding something with a manual transmission.
