Stop Putting Dish Soap In Nova Scotia’s Waterways

I love TikTok, but it certainly is a an app that has some people coming up with some DUMB ideas.

Aka…the Tide Pod Challenge, The Milk Crate Challenge and now a challenge that has the Nova Scotia Department of Environment and Climate Change asking people to STOP!

They’re asking people to stop putting soaps/dish soap in our waterways. Specifically at the bottom of waterfalls to create bubbles.

The Soap is killing fish and other aquatic life. The soap destroys fish’s outer mucus layer which protects them from infection. (Yes this even includes biodegradable soaps like Dawn).

So please…if you see this Trend on TikTok, don’t do it!!!

You can find out more on Nova Scotia Buzz.
