It’s strawberry time… finally. I’d say they are my favourite berry, but that would be wrong.
First, they’re not berries. They are actually an accessory fruit. I guess that makes them sort of the fruit version of earrings. Or possibly a purse. But there are fairly strict rules one must abide by in order to be a fruit, and strawberries don’t follow those rule.
On top of that, blueberries would probably be my actual favourite berries, but we’ll talk about them later, when I’m fighting the ducks for them.
Anyway, I like strawberries. I’m not a fan of picking them, but I do like to eat them. Pie, shortcake, in a dish with a bit of cream or just right out of the box, I like strawberries.
