Strong winds blowing through N.S.

Hang on tight – we’re in for some very windy and wet weather across the Maritimes.

For Nova Scotia, Environment Canada has issued wind warnings.

The forecaster predicts southerly winds with maximum gusts of 80 to 100 km/h from Monday afternoon until evening.

Also, expect disruptions to ferry service with today’s high winds.

Bay Ferries Limited says some of its sailings have been revised or cancelled.

The Monday 9 a.m. ferry is now scheduled to depart at 8 a.m.

Monday’s Digby 4pm sailing is cancelled as is Tuesday’s 8 a.m. Saint John departure.

Service will resume Tuesday with the Digby 11 a.m. sailing.

Marine Atlantic has announced that Monday’s ferry crossings between Port aux Basque and North Sydney have been cancelled.

Northumberland Ferries Limited also advises that ferry service between Nova Scotia and P.E.I. could be disrupted.
