Students holding ‘day of action’ for free tuition

A national ‘day of action’ for post-secondary education students.

They’re pressing the government for free tuition and accessible education.

A rally is planned at Grand Parade in Halifax at 11 a.m Wednesday.

Chair of the Canadian Federation of Students Nova Scotia Aideen Reynolds says it’s getting tougher everyday.

“Students are housing and food insecure, and facing the cost-of-living crisis as much as anyone else. Students are really really struggling, and they’ve had enough,” said Reynolds.

They say student loans aren’t just for education, because students need to use it for housing and food.

They also wants to see more grants, instead of student loans.

Nova Scotia has some of the highest tuition fees in the country, according to the federation.
