There are so many great South Shore delicacies!
The pickled herring in Solomon Gundy – I have friends who when they open a jar don’t stop until it’s all gone.
Then there is Lunenburg Pudding and Lunenburg Sausage. For many, it’s a holiday favourite enjoyed at Christmas.
Once the new potatoes show up in the stores along with the first crop of vegetables people will be having a big feed of Hodge Podge.
But for me, the best South Shore food is our sauerkraut. I would never have a sausage on the barbeque without some mustard and sauerkraut to top it off.
I like all the recipes with sauerkraut and I love having it as a side to my meal.
