I can’t think of any better activity to get back into during these times of social distancing then camping. You’re outdoors, most campgrounds have sites appropriately distanced from others, and as long as you’re camping within your family or bubble you’re staying within the rules.
When I was a kid our family would take a vote every spring on where we wanted to go on vacation. Every year it was unanimous that we wanted to go camping at Cape Breton Highlands National Park – specifically the Broad Cove Campground
To be honest, I haven’t camped for a few years but I have great memories of my camping days. While waking up in a cold tent on the side of a mountain isn’t one of them, having that first fresh- perked coffee of the day is a great memory. And there’s something about the consistency of toast made on an outdoor toaster over a flame.
Perhaps my favourite thing about camping is “country tv” also known as sitting around a campfire.
What’s your favourite camping memory and do you remember the campground where it happened?
