Tonight is the night that Boston will be lighting up the beautiful tree Hugh and Liz Ryan donated. This year’s tree for Boston, a white spruce, came from Mattie Settlement in Antigonish County. It’s been a tradition since 1971, that Nova Scotia sends a Christmas tree to Boston, to say thank you for their help during the Halifax Explosion.
The Boston’s tree lighting ceremony will happen tonight on the Boston Common. If you’d like to watch the live broadcast, you can find it HERE! It’ll start at 6pm our time.
