We still have a ways to go. It isn’t quite fall yet. Unless you’re an actual meteorologist, in which case, fall starts on September 1, instead of the 22nd. But I’m not rushing it.
I hate to say goodbye to summer. I don’t really mind the heat, although I can live without the humidity. But I don’t sit around hoping it will soon be gone. Because the problem in my mind is that it is gone too soon.
So it’s September. The time of year when we start getting sweater weather and everything turns to pumpkin spice.
I am not a fan of pumpkin spice. I’m not sure how the trend started, but I certainly don’t look forward to it. And I really don’t get those who seem to be really caught up in it. You know you can just buy some and use it anytime, right? You don’t have to wait to the fall to come around.
I’m also not a big fan of walking through a grocery store and seeing Hallowe’en items on sale in August. It’s a trap. You buy your Hallowe’en candy early, thinking you are getting a jump on things and suddenly it disappears. I have no idea how this happens. It could be mice. Or candy thieves. There’s no way I would eat it all myself… is there? Doesn’t matter. I still have to buy more. And I’m not falling for that again. Yet.
But the weather will start to cool down a bit. I do like fall weather. I like the cool mornings and somewhat warm days.
And I also have a lot of sweaters lying around. It won’t be long before I have a good excuse to wear them.
