Some of you are probably busy right now, making sure all the little corners and crevices in your home are clean and ready for inspection. After all, you wouldn’t want something like that reported back to the North Pole. And as of tomorrow, it could happen.
The Little Guys who spy on behalf of the Big Guy start work tomorrow. It’s officially Elf on the Shelf season starting tomorrow. Scout Elves will start popping up all over the world.
Back in my day, we didn’t have many elves hanging out on shelves. I’m pretty sure they were around, but we didn’t usually catch sight of them. Although maybe the need for shelf elves wasn’t as great back then. After all, there were fewer people in the world, so maybe Santa could keep track of us himself. Or maybe they were a lot better at hiding. But they certainly weren’t as common as they are today.
These elves get up to some pretty interesting antics at times. I have never seen one myself, but I have seen them featured in many social media posts, spotted in various situations in houses all over the world. And to think they all report back to Santa each night on what they have seen is quite amazing. The logistics of sorting though all those reports is mind boggling. But we are talking about Santa here, and he has his ways.
So you better be good, for goodness sake. The elves will be watching starting tomorrow. And you never know where they might be hiding.
