The Most Delicious Time Of The Year

Part of the lobster season is underway. LFA 33 got things started this morning, while LFA 34 is still facing delays. For all involved, here’s hoping for good catches and a safe season.

For many of us, we look forward to a feed of lobster this time of year. Some will be rushing to get their hands on some of the first to be landed. Others will be looking to get their hands on some by the end of the year. Everyone seems to have their own traditions when it comes to lobsters. I know there are those who don’t care for them or maybe can’t eat them. But I do like to get at least one feed over the next few weeks.

There are many ways to eat lobster, and we probably all have our faourites. Whether it is steamed, creamed, made into a chowder or any number of other ways, those who eat them probably all have their favourite way.

I enjoy sitting down with a freshly boiled or steamed lobster and some melted butter. If you happen to be close by, there is a splatter zone so you may want to step back. But however it’s prepared, you’re unlikely to see me turn down lobster. A nice lobster chowder or a lobster roll or burger would also be on my list.

Let’s just say I’ve never met a lobster I didn’t like.

So here’s to a bountiful and safe season to all involved.

I’ll be standing by with my bib and crackers ready.
