You can sort of see the light at the end of the tunnel. And I don’t think it’s a train. But you never know, these days.
Restrictions are hopefully being eased and will continue to be eased, although I don’t expect things to go back to normal for a long while. Although there is starting to be talk about how we should spend our summer vacations.
Travel, at least long distance travel, will likely be out of the question for a while. Although I am sure there will be some great deals on air fares and cruise ships are stalking about getting back into operation in August, I don’t see any of that in my future for a while. There already seems to be a bit of talk about trying to get many of us to vacation around home this year, which isn’t a bad idea.
I’ll be honest. I haven’t had the travel bug for a while. The thought just doesn’t appeal to me. But there are places pretty close that I have never visited. Or places I haven’t been for a long while. Not that I don’t want to go. It’s just been one of those things. You know. You can always go to such and such a place, only you never seem to. Even though it is only a short drive away. Maybe this is the year.
Maybe this is a good summer to think about staying closer to home. If we’re even allowed to leave home. But that’s starting to look possible.
