I can’t say I’m a hard core Monarchist. I don’t mind the concept of the monarchy, but I’m also not really stuck on it either. But, at the same time, I kind of like the traditions. That’s what has me interested in what has been happening at the moment.
Most of us have never really seen this happening before, seeing as how the Queen reigned for over seventy years. We have never seen a transition from one monarch to another. And the world has never been able to instantly access these things as they happen.
It’s fascinating in some ways. Certain speeches and ceremonies and services happen in a given order in a rather precise way as set out in tradition that has endured for centuries. It’s rather interesting to watch in many ways.
In many ways, it is amazing how well oiled a machine the monarchy truly is. But that is something we have all heard for years. Sometimes not always in a good context.
But I find it fascinating that our new King (which will take some getting used to) has his duties that must be performed while at the same time preparing to say his final goodbyes to a cherished family member. I am quite sure it is not something I would like to do in such a public manner.
But I do find it interesting as to what happens as the process goes on. It may or may not be something I get to witness again, but it is interesting to watch history unfold.
And It will be interesting to see what our twenty dollar bill will look like when they finally get switched over. But I won’t be collecting the old ones. I still have a stack of two dollar bills that I’m waiting to be worth a fortune.
