When some of the grocery stores and drugstores first brought in self checkout kiosks I swore I would never use them.
I didn’t want to be responsible for someone losing their job at the store because I was trying to save a few seconds scanning and paying for my purchases.
Since, then I’ve found some of the stores, and their checkout people kind of pushy as far as using self checkout.
So I’ve used self checkout a couple of times.
To be honest, I really don’t think I save any time with the self checkout.
The first couple of attempts I know I was there four times longer than using the regular checkout.
Now, after two plus years of the pandemic, the great resignation, and businesses having real trouble attracting employees I’m not sure what is the best choice.
Should I use the self checkout now since it doesn’t seem to cause anyone to be laid off, or should I use the regular checkout?
