The Zen Of Winter Driving

Right up front, I’ll say it. Sorry if I slow you down on a snow covered road.

Actually, I’m not sorry. My focus tends to be more on arriving at my destination alive. If you really have to go fast, have at it. Just don’t expect me to participate.

I won’t say I’m a really slow driver, but there seems to always be someone who wants to be faster. But when the roads are white, I’m one of those people who probably will not be trying to pretend the driving is great and you should be doing the speed limit or slightly above. I may even pull over and let faster vehicles pass.

And if I come up behind someone who’s going even slower, it’s very likely I’ll just slow down and stay there.

I just refuse to be in a hurry when the roads are slippery.

There are many people who are not fans of winter driving. I try to understand that. When the roads are slippery, I try to let others drive as they feel comfortable. If that means I arrive a few minutes late, that’s the way it will be. The important thing is to get there.
