The Nova Scotia Family Behind Peace By Chocolate Is Getting An Animated Film About Their Lives

The Hadhad family from Antigonish has had an amazing story! The family originally lived and worked in Syria, but due to war, they moved to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, and rebuilt their chocolate business right from small‑town Canada. Peace By Chocolate has grown to be not just a local chocolate company but a beacon of hope for immigrants coming to Canada and for all Canadians!

They first appeared on screen in the 2021 indie film Peace by Chocolate, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 18, 2021. The film stars Hatem Ali as patriarch Issam Hadhad and Ayham Abou Ammar as their son Tareq Hadhad.

Now, a brand‑new animated feature will be released by the same company behind hits like Shrek 2, Trolls, and more! Check out the post below! 😊
