Thousands Still Without Power After High Winds and Rain

Around 5,000 Nova Scotia Power customers are still in the dark this morning, at last check.

Over 1,000 without power near the Sherbrooke area in the northeastern part of the province.

This comes after yesterday’s rain and windstorm that had Environment Canada issuing warnings, and at one-point tens of thousands were without electricity.

Halifax Police had warned motorists to stay off the roads, and the ferry services running between Halifax, Alderny and Woodside were suspended during the storms, peak.

The utility is now working to get the lights back on.
