Update 5 p.m.: Hwy 103 reopened, power coming back on after fibre break

Internet is slowly coming back on for thousands of people.

A fibre break near Bayers Lake in Halifax, at Highway 103 and St. Margarets Bay Rd., cut service in areas all over the province.

As a result, the highway was closed from Exit 2B to Exit 3 but has been reopened.

In an email to customers, Purple Cow says the problem had spanned across Nova Scotia, impacting all providers.

Eastlink says they expect service to be restored by later tonight.
