Three killed in Pictou County crash on Highway 106

Pictou County RCMP is reporting three people were killed in a collision on Highway 106 near Mount William.

Calls reporting a two-vehicle collision began coming in around 10:45 p.m. the night of August 11. When RCMP arrived the two vehicles were fully engulfed in flames.

The driver of one of the vehicles and the driver and passenger of the other vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 106 was closed for several hours as a result but has since reopened.

RCMP are still investigating the cause of the collision and are hoping to speak with any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the Mount William area taken on the night of August 11.

As the investigation is still ongoing police have not released details on the make and model of the vehicles involved and the deceased will not be publicly identified.
